The program focuses on the idea that young people have enough creativity, enthusiasm, initiative, motivation to make an impact in the society, a capacity that very often is not taken into consideration.
The main result is that by given them the chance to make a difference in their community, they become more responsible. YouthBank helps them develop communication, negotiation, leadership and financial management skills through the complexity of the program.
A team of 15 youngsters (age 16 to 20) that form the YouthBank team are trained on how to run a fund raising campaign, how to advertise and promote a fund, and how to run a grant making process.
The fund that is created is destined to support projects initiated and implemented by high school students, giving them the opportunity to identify problems in the community and helping them find solutions to those problems. Annually, YouthBank finances 10-15 projects implemented by approximately 60-80 youngsters.
